BACK FROM KL. :)

So we headed up to Kuala Lumpur for the weekend to attend a cousin's wedding. The family tribal council had chartered a private coach for the whole troupe to go up together.

Friday morning 5am, waiting for the taxi to come and fetch us to Golden Mile. We made it a point not to sleep the whole night before so we could crash on the long bus ride up to KL. But that kinda ended up with us looking like zombies in the morning when it was time to leave. :/ haha!

Our coach driver somehow lost his way in the city, and ended up sending us to the wrong hotel. So after a lot of u-turns and winding around, we reached Hilton at around 1.30pm in the afternoon. It took us a while to check in, but Hubby, his younger brother Abel and I were bunking in the same room.

we were all disappointed that there wasn't any bathtub in the wash room, but it was still cool because you could see through the toilet from the bedroom! Of course, there was a slide down shade that would conceal the toilet when somebody is inside. :P

Hubby trying to be a flasher. :P

After we had all settled into our rooms and unpacked, it was time to head over to Er Yi (second auntie)'s new house for a home cooked dinner. She had spent the afternoon getting her hair done for her son's wedding the next day. Their house was about an hour's drive away from the city, and it was up a hill in a private estate.

Dinner was a widespread of Ampang yong tau fu with roasted duck and other local dishes. After dinner, Hubby told me that we were going out for a spin, but turns out, they were heading to buy durians back for dessert. I nearly fainted in the car because I can't stand the smell of durians!!!

After dinner, we headed to Petaling street but it was pretty boring, and we ate not-so-awesome Lok Lok that was quite expensive. But everybody was really tired, so we all head back to our rooms to sleep for the night.

After breakfast, we headed to a private member's club in some secluded area up a tiny mountain for the gatecrashing and tea ceremony. The place was designed in a Balinese fashion, and it was an outdoor event. The club was decorated in bright pink and yellow, and there were cupcakes and colorful marshmellows and balloons.

Everybody was quite tired in the morning, and the terribly warm weather did not make things better. But the family was still very supportive, and all the aunties kept disturbing the bridesmaids during the gatecrashing. After that, we were all seated down in a little canopy, where the solemnisation took place. By the time it was lunch, the kids were practically sleeping at the table!

Back to hotel, power nap; time to get ready for dinner. :)

I didn't take many photos during the dinner. The bride and groom had hired a live jazz band to serenade the guests, and the food was alright. It was only towards the end that the party started. All the older folks still have a fiery wild side to them! They started drinking beer and wine and everybody was dancing and laughing. There was even a really odd point in time when they decided to go up on stage as a family and sing the Singapore National Anthem!! Very happening bunch. :P

Hubby and his cousins were still hungry, so we decided to head across the road and buy supper back because we were preparing to watch the Euro match in our hotel room. Check out our bill:-

And that is just for 3 people. :)
